Springpad -- is the one note taking app that I simply love and use on a daily basis. So what is Springpad and Why do I use it over Evernote? Springpad in simple terms, is a note taking app to organize your daily activities or life. I call it as an Organizer for your activities or "Things to Do". The app has a smooth UI experience and the flow is consistent across the app. The basic app gives you the ability to note down any activity and organize in pre-defined or customizable compartments called "Notebook". So one can create a new notebook to organize things like Work, To read later and so on.  With an enhanced task manager, you can also set a completion date along with a notification feature to track the task. With Springpad extension for Chrome, you can simply click on the address bar to add a new item -- a note, task, Clip this page or do a search. Is GroupMe on the cusp of breaking out from a crowd of new service providers now that beluga has been bought by FaceBook? So what's GroupMe? Simply put it's a service to send a text/picture and share location to a group that you setup. Some of the features existed for a good 10-12 years now, but why is Group Me gathering some momentum on this side of the pond since last month? I contribute that to one killer feature on GroupMe -- Conference Call. It might be one of the most easiest implementation for a conference call. Each Group created has a unique phone number. Text the number to the group and the group can dial-in calling the group phone number! It's that easy. The pain points generally is around the fact, that it's not really integrated with your address book. I wish it was tightly integrated with your address book so that you can create and maintain groups without any hassles. Two ideas that got me excited today were not related to PeopleSoft deliverables, but something that happened at the end of the day. The first was figuring out the restaurant address. My manager removed his Android phone and did a voice search on a restaurant. The results found out matched to what was requested for -- albeit wrong place.  The second thing happened was r ight at the dinner table at Don Pablo's, we all were sharing some great information and enjoying some good Mexican food. Everyone with their smartphone were bragging about different apps and how they use them. One of the colleague showed me an app that she uses every day to track the calorie intakes. The app was called my fitness pal. It's a great app. At the end of the dinner, it dawned to me that we are in this beautiful transition phase where we are seeing with our own eyes how the world interacts and is changing so rapidly.
