Life Lessons Learned so far

1. Be true to yourself and live an honest life. If you are true to yourself, you'll be able to make decisions based on your strengths and Weakness. Living an honest life creates fewer hassles and increases your focus.

2. Complaints, Gripes, Rants and Criticizing never helps. If there is a problem, look for solutions

3. Learn to say No - and this comes from an Indian -- who have terrible time saying NO. Saying NO is easy; my 3 year old daughter teaches me every day!

4. Don't ever stop dreaming or thinking Big. It makes a huge difference.

4. Staying Positive is easier than most people realize. The worst that can ever happen is you going back to basics or drawing board in Crisis!

5. Accept Change as Change = Constant.

6. It's OK to make mistakes. You learn a lot from your mistakes then you would ever learn from your success.

7. Get out of your comfort zone every now and then and challenge yourself. There is no better learning curve when you trade the waters of uncertainties.

8. be passionate about what you do -- Don't think off success rather focus on excellence.

9. Money is renewable source of energy if you keep your health intact. (This is from someone who is bad in following this lesson)

10. Time is everything. Time is the only non-renewable source of energy. Utilize it to your maximum.

11. Fear Not. Fear is something that you have to embrace it without resisting it or fighting it. Fear definitely subsides once you have faced it.

12. Spent time with the people that matters to you in life. Connect with People who share the same vision and goals in life.

13. A look at a documentary on PBS on India, China or 80% of the world population would tell you that one doesn't need a whole lot to be happier!

14. Speak the truth and nothing else.

15. Never under-estimate the power of your will. You are mentally stronger that you think you are.

16. Always try to be a leader. It is easier to criticize the leader than to be one...Try to be one!

17. Think. Gather a moment. Reflect. Pray for 5 minutes a day. It would make life simpler to decipher.

18. Play outside. Run outside. Walk outside. Do things outside to clear your thoughts and more importantly to see the beautiful painting that has been created for us.

19. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.

20. Help people around you.

I am 34 -- yet, I have learned only 20 lessons in life so far -- 14 less lessons -- I give it to my late maturity :-)

To Clean Energy or not?

India is a nation of almost 1.2 billion people. There is an immense need for resources and infrastructure to sustain the growing population and the booming Indian economy to keep the nation moving forward. India also lacks the basic infrastructure at rural areas to provide the basic necessity like power, roads and water supply. It's common in B-town city to have a structured way of "power-cuts" ranging anywhere from 2 hrs. - 8 hrs. a day in summer! For the longest period of time, India has been dependent on Coal, and its power is more or less generated by Coal energy or fossil fuels. Coal as everyone knows is one of the "old" energy technology responsible for carbon emission and India has always walked a tight line, when it comes to Kyoto Protocol aimed at fighting global warming. India is at a threshold to usher in Nuclear energy with a new proposed nuclear power plant in Jaitapur, Maharashtra. The proposed nuclear power plant is no ordinary plant -- The 5 b...

Walmart retail in India -- A tough choice to pick

Walmart name and it's existence in my life took shape in 1996-1997 when my brother in law landed in United States. I still remember when my Brother-In-Law gifted us a book of America and it's beautiful images, which was bought from Walmart. Till then, I had no idea what Walmart was and what Sam Walton did to revolutionize the retail experience in United States. The real grasp of what Walmart does on a day to day basis to an average american and in general the United States economy, did not impact me till I landed in this country almost a decade back.  Almost a decade later, we have Walmart knocking doors at India's footstep. India too is looking to revamp and open up it's entire retail model at the same time. The decision of Indian government to allow foreign direct investment (FDI) in retail is the most radical reform it has undertaken since 1992. What is so different about the proposed revamping of the retail space is how a FDI can directly buy from the local fa...

Focus on fixing the root problem

Sometimes I wonder why we Indians focus on solutions rather than fixing the problem at root? Our culture is more than 5000 years old, and obviously, there are many household remedies to treat small health problems for kids and adults alike. And believe me, most of them work like a charm! I get that. What I don't get it, just because you have remedies to treat a certain health problem - we still continue to venture out and continue to do the same activities that results in the problem to begin with. Just because you have medicines that can treat, doesn't mean you need to go and abuse your body for the problem to reoccur. I just don't like that part. Neither do I like the part where at slight temperature of around 98 results in taking of a Tylenol. Let the body fight. We just don't let the body fight.
